The National Cancer Institute's Cancer Information Service (CIS) is a federally funded program that was established in 1975 as an essential part of NCI’s cancer education and information efforts. For over 35 years, NCI’s CIS has been providing scientifically based, unbiased information to patients, their families and friends, physicians and other health professionals, and the general public about all aspects of cancer including: cancer research and clinical trials, cancer prevention, risk factors, symptoms, early detection, diagnosis, treatment, living with cancer, quitting smoking, etc.

Talk with an information specialist from the NCI’s Cancer Information Service. NCI information specialists are available to help answer your cancer-related questions whether you are a patient, family member or friend, health care provider, or researcher.

Warmline Family Resource Center offers support for families raising a child with developmental delays, disabilities, or special needs. WarmLine:

• Connects parents with other parents through family events and parent support activities
• Promotes child development and parent/child interaction by sponsoring play groups
• Encourages inclusion of all children in the community and appreciation of their unique value
• Informs parents about systems and services which support children with special needs
• Provides trainings to promote parents' awareness of how to support child development and understanding of their child's special needs
• Empowers parents to develop leadership skills which help them to be active participants in their child's programs and services. Parents are their child's best advocates.
• Offers the opportunity for parent to talk with another parent who is sensitive to their issues and concerns.
