FieldHaven Feline Center’s Spay/Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) provides low-cost spay and neuter surgeries for owned, stray, and community cats, including medical care and wellness support.

The program helps reduce feline overpopulation and improve long-term animal health. Services are offered through FieldHaven’s Hathaway Veterinary Clinic, with trap loans and education available for feral colony caregivers and community members engaging in trap-neuter-return (TNR).

Services include:

  • Spay or neuter surgery for community and owned cats
  • Vaccinations, flea and parasite treatment, and microchipping
  • Discounted pricing for rescue organizations with proof of 501(c)(3) status
  • Trap loans and coaching for individuals conducting TNR

Wildlife Services is a cooperative program between the United States Department of Agriculture and Nevada County, and is responsible for the control of non-domestic animals such as skunks, opossums, raccoons, beavers, coyotes, mountain lions, bears, and damaging birds that pose a threat to human or animal health and safety, or cause damage to property, agriculture or livestock. The main goal of the program is to remove only the animals that are causing the problem. To contact the Federal Trapper assigned to Nevada County, call 530-470-2690 during office hours.
